Casa Corah

More than a place

Casa Corah is a home that opens its doors to artistic and human experiences.

Here, host and guest are never far apart. Those who arrive bring their presence, and help create the atmosphere.

Music brings us together. Food shared draws us closer.

Casa Corah has brought together artists from Portugal, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Argentina and Greece. And more to come.

Ponerse el Corah

Corah began as Carolina Araoz’s artistic name, inspired by the idea of a blank page: the freedom to explore without having it all written out.

In time, her friends began calling the place where they gathered Casa Corah.

Today, ponerse el Corah, “putting on your Corah”, means arriving open to discovery, letting yourself be surprised, and leaving with new stories.

Today, Casa Corah belongs to those who inhabit it.

President for life · eleven years in office

Luca, president of the house.

Eleven years beside Carolina on her travels around the world have given him a traveller’s ear and a stage presence of his own. He presides over every Session from his place, listening closely to the gift of music. A song came out of those journeys: he composed it, and Carolina sings it.

Founder

Carolina Araoz

Saxophonist · Composer · Artistic director

I am a saxophonist, composer and artistic director. I founded Casa Corah because I wanted a place where music could be heard up close and people could truly meet: in my own living room, with artists I admire and listeners who come for the music.

From the start, I wanted it to be more than mine. Casa Corah is made by the artists who play in it, by those who come to listen, and by everyone who brings something to the table.

I opened the doors. Those who come bring it to life.
